Get the best out of social media as a recruitment tool
Operating in AsiaPac? Are you signed up for the e-marketer newsletters (the Marketing Institute of Singapore’s monthly newsletter)? Our Director of Resourcing Communications, Martin Cerullo, has a great article in this month’s edition full of invaluable pointers for both candidates and recruiters on using social media as a recruitment tool.
It’s one of the hot topics in recruitment at the moment – how effective is it, how is it best used, and where is it going next? As Martin writes, ‘…top social media sites [are] growing at an incredible rate. Twitter…had a 1,300% increase in the number of users between 2008 and 2009. In the same year, Facebook had some 45 million new users sign up. Professional networking site LinkedIn has a new member join every second, on top of its existing 41 million members.’
Looks like everyone’s at it, but not everyone is doing it right. Not all recruiters are using these new tools for everything they could: to find candidates, to screen candidates, and to market opportunities to candidates. Similarly, not all candidates are profiling and marketing themselves as effectively as they could.
Every day we help our clients navigate the new world of social media, what it means for recruitment, and how to use it most effectively. Check out Martin’s article to get a taste of how we could help you get the most out of social media for your recruitment.
